Formable Solid Bleached Board

Inverform is a multi layered solid bleached board (SBB) product, entirely based on fresh fibres. Specific fibre compositions are used for the various layers in the construction to optimise performance. The outer layers are dominated by hardwood fibres to promote smoothness and printability. The middle layer consists of softwood fibres for strength, flexibility and formability.

Product description

Inverform with a polyethylene (PE) extrusion coating is specially developed for ready-made food packaging and provides an excellent combination of barrier and sealability characteristics. With its exceptional formability and product consistency in combination with its moisture barrier, Inverform with a PE coating is suitable for applications such as cups or, for example, packaging for frozen foods or chocolate.

PE is a heat sealable barrier therefore providing a simple, yet efficient way, of sealing the package. When one side is coated, it provides a good moisture barrier from the inside and when both sides are coated, it provides a good moisture barrier both inside and out.

Both black, white and brown versions of PE coatings are available upon request.

The Surface tension level can be affected after delivery by conditions beyond our control. Regarding Adhesion, the scale is 1–6. (6 = the best possible adhesion on the concerned surface).

Test method

All properties are measured in test climate 23°C/50% RH at Iggesund mill. Tolerances and max/min levels, when stated, are based upon 95% confidence interval within each production run. Read more about testing methods in our section about General Technical Information.
