The use of cookies

Under the act relating to electronic communication which came into force on July 25, 2003, everyone who visits a website with cookies must be informed that the website contains cookies what these cookies are used for how cookies can be avoided.

From 1 July 2011 onwards, users have to expressly give their consent to a cookie being placed on their computer. Up until that point it was normally assumed that the user had accepted cookies unless they actively chose not to, opted out. In practice the difference is minimal.

Holmen Iggesund uses YouTube as a channel for uploading and showing videos. At we embed videos from YouTube. Cookies are created when a visitor chooses to watch a video.

These are used to improve the viewing experience. They check the bandwidth on the user’s computer to make sure the video is shown correctly, for example. The length of time these cookies are stored for varies from disappearing when the browser is closed to 8 months.

Monitoring statistics  
Holmen Iggesund uses Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users' computers. Identifies a unique browser with its own ID in the statistics tool. When a user returns to the website using the same browser, Google Analytics identifies the user as a returning user. No personal information is saved.
Saved in the browser for 2 years, or until deleted by the user.

Tells Google Analytics that a visit to the website has started. The statistics tool combines it with __utmc for the best result. Saved in the browser for 1 hour 20 minutes, or until the user deletes it.

Tells Google Analytics that a visit to the website has started. The statistics tool combines it with __utmb for the best result. Deleted from the browser when it closes.

Registers when the visitor has come from a search engine and which search terms were used. It also tracks how you navigate within Saved in the browser for 6 months.

Most of the pages on our website have share links. We use a third-party supplier called The browser saves cookies in order to share the content. These cookies show different buttons for sharing from our website on social networks.
