After a few months of experimenting, Renjer launched its first product in 2017, Reindeer Jerky. For packaging solutions, they went to K-Print in Estonia. The smooth box is made on Invercote Creato paperboard and has a design with the stunning view of “Lapplandsporten” (the gate to Lapland) printed with CMYK and PMS on both sides. A soft touch water-based varnish was used for the final finish.

Renjer is focused on sustainability in all parts of the business – from raw materials to production and logistics. A key piece to this is to count on sustainable food packaging. According to the company, the carbon dioxide footprint from reindeer and game meat is ten times lower than beef and there are also health benefits.

“Thanks to its high protein content our jerky is the perfect snack after a workout or while being out in the wilderness. It’s also low on fat, contains no sugar and is packed with necessary Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, vitamins, and nutrients, according to a study by the arctic university of Tromsø” says co-founder Alex Kirchmaier.

Since 2017 then Renjer has added both elk and deer jerky to its assortment and plans for the future launching a range of new products.

“Our mission is to produce natural and healthy snacks sourced from sustainable herding or hunting. We want to share this delicate treasure of the North with the world” says Kirchmaier.
