“The importance of packaging for a product like Champagne is fundamental”.

Nathalie Doucet, Markerting Director at GOSSET.

When GOSSET was taken over by Cointreau at the end of the 20th century, the Champagne achieved national acclaim, winning the French Excellence Award, Trophée de l’Excellence Française, in 2010 and the government award “Living Heritage Company” in 2013.

We spoke to Nathalie Doucet, Marketing Director at GOSSET, about why the packaging for premium products should be a big priority.

Nathalie says “The importance of packaging for a product like Champagne is fundamental. The packaging is not only made to protect or preserve, it is the reflection of the product it contains”.

Nathalie believes that packaging is an integral part of the brand’s DNA. “Packaging has to be part of the customer experience and make the customer want to buy. To do this, it must be manufactured carefully with irreproachable finishes”.

For many years, GOSSET Champagne has utilized the high-quality paperboard of Holmen Iggesund for its entire range of gift boxes. Nathalie says they chose Invercote according to its whiteness, strength, and quality of impression depending on the used process: cold foiling, varnish, and embossing, among others.

“Each gift box has the colour code of the cuvée it contains. The monogram of the house and its baseline, as well as a text on the cuvée, are printed in cold silver foil” says Nathalie.

“Packaging has to be part of the customer experience and make the customer want to buy”.

All GOSSET’s gift boxes are FSC® certified (FSC-C110018). Nathalie sees this as another important offering to the consumer.

“This certification is a guarantee to the consumer that the product complies with the standards set out by FSC®, ensuring procedures are followed to guarantee the sustainable management of forests”.

The GOSSET champagne gift box is produced by Le Sanglier.
