New German distribution channel for Incada Silk

The European paper and paperboard market is changing and Iggesund Paperboard, maker of Invercote and Incada, is developing and adjusting its distribution in the German market.

As of September 1, Antalis will stock and distribute Incada Silk in Germany.

"We are happy to be able to offer Iggesund's top notch folding box board Incada Silk to our customers. It is efficient in packaging applications, perfect for lightweighting, has an excellent print surface and is known for good runnability", says Jens Rothe, responsible for Antalis paperboard sales in Germany. Since last year Antalis stocks a wide range of Iggesund's solid bleached board Invercote, also in formats suitable for digital print.

Incada is a folding box board with excellent printing and converting properties. It is used both for high end packaging and in general print. It is one of the strongest paperboard brands in the European market and has a world-class environmental track record. In 2013 Iggesund Paperboard dramatically changed the energy source for the production at its Workington mill from fossil to bioenergy through a £ 108 million investment in a biomass boiler.

"This ensures high availability of Incada in Germany. We are very satisfied with this solution and hope that it will contribute to further growth of our sales," comments Frederique Rosenauer, who is in charge of Iggesund's sales in Germany.

Iggesund Paperboard is part of the Swedish forest industry group Holmen, repeatedly listed as one of the world's 100 most sustainable companies on the United Nations Global Compact Index. Since 2010 Iggesund has invested more than €380 million to increase its energy efficiency and reduce the fossil emissions from its production.

Iggesund and the Holmen Group report all fossil carbon emissions to the Carbon Disclosure Project. The environmental data form an integral part of an annual report that complies with the Global Reporting Initiative's highest level of sustainability reporting.

Iggesund's turnover is just over €500 million and it has two brand families, Invercote and Incada, both positioned at the high end of their respective segments.

“We are very hopeful about our increased representation in Germany through Antalis. We hope that our track record in sustainability will increase our sales in Germany where the demands on low environmental impact is high from both end users and the design community, say Frederique Rosenauer responsible for Iggesund’s sales in Germany.
