新年快乐 / 新年快樂 (HAPPY NEW YEAR!)
Iggesund celebrates the Chinese New Year with a greeting card for all bird and paperboard lovers.
This week marks the start of the Chinese New Year and in Chinese astrology 2017 is the Year of the Rooster. The rooster’s year is the tenth in the twelve-year horoscope cycle and is defined as the year of intelligence, determination and hard work. To highlight the holiday Iggesund has produced an ambitious greeting card foldable into a proud rooster.
In December, following a long tradition, Iggesund sent a seasonal greeting card to its customers and partners in all markets. This latest one came in the shape and form of a snowflake (http://www.iggesund.com/snowflake2016) and has generated more attention and orders than in any previous year. In the Asian market, the sales organisation has for many years sent an equally exclusive and artful card to its contacts to honour the Chinese New Year.
“By sending a New Year’s greeting to our customers we remind them of our existence and also create a beautiful link between our product and the animal of the upcoming year. Last year we created a calendar with jungle motifs for the Year of the Monkey and for the Year of the Horse we made a Swedish Dala horse,” says Robert Bryngelsson, Project Manager Market Communications at Iggesund Paperboard.
The 2017 card was designed by Amass Communications and printed by Sun Color. The rooster is traditionally the vainest of animals and the card can serve both as a visually striking object and as a stand for your smartphone, since it’s made of sturdy Invercote Creato. The only thing left to do is to assemble the rooster.
“It can be a bit tricky but the card does come with instructions. With a bit of intelligence, determination and hard work, I’m sure the result will be fine,” says Bryngelsson with a nod to the characteristics best suited to the Year of the Rooster.
