Iggesund Academy is all about knowledge exchange and in particular know-how related to paperboard and its packaging and graphical applications. What is paperboard? Why should you use paperboard? How do you optimise its usage? The Academy gives access to knowledge and reference materials in both printed and digital format. There are various possibilities to attend training sessions at Iggesund Paperboard's mills or via seminars and webinars. An important part of the Iggesund Academy is the cooperation with selected educational institutes.
Engaging with tomorrow's design leaders
For the past three years Iggesund has cooperated with several universities in the UK with the aim of enabling design students to get a taste of the reality they will encounter when they enter working life. Together with an external educational company, Brief Cases, Iggesund has produced briefs on topical subjects in the graphics and packaging sectors, which the universities have then integrated into their programmes. The subjects have varied from “What will tomorrow’s packaging look like?” to “How can we exploit the advantages of digital printing in small-scale packaging production?” but have also included how to produce infographics on sustainability issues or how to describe Iggesund’s programme to encourage farmers in northern England to start growing energy crops.
